I’ll keep it short and sweet.
Had drinks with ComedyBoy from Sunday Night tonight. It was such great natural conversation I can’t remember what we talked about… all I knew was I had a fab time.
Only problem… he’s short… and he thinks it doesn’t matter to me when it really does.
Oh well…. He’s a new guy that I can have FUN with if I so desire….. otherwise I’m sure he’s got taller friends!!!!
(And for those who want to alienate me for knowing what I want in a guy and saying “screw you for not giving a short guy a chance” I say I am simply SURE in what I need to make me happy.)

VH1 Interviews Karl From The PickUp Artist 2 The Celebreality Interview

It was Karl who was bounced from this week’s episode of the Pick Up Artist. He came to Mystery for some healing after a rough ride in a relationship. While he was always social and outgoing, Karl needed an extra boost when it came to women, and he has said that Mystery changed his life. He may not be in the relationship market these days, but he’s definitely putting his skills to use and meeting plenty of ladies. During our chat, Karl was optimistic; he didn’t have a harsh word to say about anyone – which makes us want to meet his ex-girlfriend and ask her what her problem is.
Was the PUA experience what you expected?
The experience was actually more than I expected. I learned a lot of invaluable things in the short time I was there – they didn’t show it, but when we were off-camera we were training for like six hours a day and I was there for a couple weeks, so I got a lot of good training. Honestly, it’s worked out for me better than I possibly thought it could.
So you’re comfortable using Mystery’s techniques in real life?
100%, and I do so frequently. I know it helped everybody in the house to a certain degree but I’m taking this very, very seriously, as are a couple of the other guys on the show, but I also know some of them have put it on the back burner. In November I’ll actually be hanging out with Kevin and Mystery, Matador, Tara and Neil Strauss.
That’s cool, just to chill out?
Yeah, Neil, he wrote The Game [a book detailing Mystery's techniques, which Strauss followed to become a PUA himself]. He’s one of my absolute heroes, I read about him before I ever went on the show. He was a guy who, to a certain degree, I idolized and now I get to go to his house; they watch the show every Sunday.

So you were familiar with Mystery before the show ever aired?
What basically happened was my buddy gave me The Game after my nasty breakup and I read that and then realized that the first season of The Pick Up Artist was halfway through. But when I saw it I was like, “Holy crap that’s Mystery, who I just read about, on TV.”
So tell us about this ex-girlfriend who broke your heart. Have you talked to her since being on the show?
You know, it’s pretty funny, when we broke up, she had actually moved off Catalina Island and I stayed, but she would visit frequently and we would get along great. We would never get back together because she pulled some messed-up stuff, but she has a kinda overbearing boyfriend now and I don’t even know if she’s allowed to watch the show.
What’s your goal as a pickup artist anyway?
After the one relationship I was in, it was so shitty that I don’t feel like putting myself through that again. But I’m not going into this to get into girls pants and raise my numbers – basically I’m enjoying being a 21-year-old single male. If I meet a girl who’s really awesome, cool, but I’m not looking for that.
Did you keep up with your appearance after the show and maintain that makeover?
At the time, I was super happy with my hair. Now? The blonde’s gone, and I just chopped off all my hair yesterday. I liked it but I don’t think I’m gonna go get my eyebrows tweezed. I can groom myself. I dressed pretty normal to begin with, not too nerdy. But I’m definitely dressing differently now, I realized that when you go out maybe you should dress a little more fancy.
Did you feel self-conscious during any of the challenges? Like for instance, with Nurse Samantha?
Nurse Samantha? No. I was probably one of the only guys who had seen a naked girl before. Because I had a girlfriend, that wasn’t fazing me so much. The one time I felt really self-conscious was around the first time I got rejected in the club and then was put on the chopping block. That first rejection really took me down a notch. My morale went down the toilet.
What did you think of your fellow contestants when you first met them?
Compared to Season 1, we were definitely all more normal and confident and outgoing guys. I actually thought I would end up doing a lot better than I ended up doing. I was confident in my own abilities, but especially after our makeovers, there were a couple of guys who surprised me. I have my ideas of who I think might win, and it’s the same ones I thought of when I first met them.
In the last episode, Mystery told you all that had Greg not chosen Matt as a wingman, Matt would have been kicked off. Instead, you were the one kicked off, were you upset by that?
There were no hard feelings – it was all a game. That was Greg’s strategy and I was already so happy with what I learned, I was not bitter at all, I was glad Matt had the opportunity to continue with his learning. The whole experience was brilliant so it would be dumb for me to resent anybody.
Being Passive is Not Always Bad
NOTE: I wrote this in my boring class so it is unedited and unproofread. I will fix it up later.
A few weeks ago, my friend and personal PUA coach told me that I was way to aggressive when I entered a set. I came off as if I was trying to get some from the girls and it scared them off. I followed his advice and toned down my aggression, vastly improving my results.
He also told me that I spend too much time in “alpha” mode and sometimes entering in “beta” mode was the better route, as it made the men of the group view me as a non-threat and possible potential ally. My coach told me that when he did this, guys would practically hand him their girlfriends and leave. Once the guys were gone, he’s switch into alpha-mode and game the girl.
Last night at the club I decided to give it a try. I bumped into a guy a knew from class and we talked for a bit and then he introduced me to his friends, one of which was a very beautiful girl. The girl immediately started talking to me. She told me I looked familiar to her. Apparently, we stayed int eh same dorm two years ago. After talking for a bit, I remembered her. She was giving me IOIs and kino like crazy, but I wasn’t going to go into PUA mode for two reasons:
1. I wanted to try out my coach’s methods
2. I’m at a point now where I have more numbers than I know what to with. I need to be focusing on day 2s and another number to worry about the is the last thing I need.
So I kept my “regular guy” frame. I was just there to talk. Soon, the AMOG comes over. My friend introduces us and I befriend the AMOG instantly. Within five minutes, one of the other guys in the group had bought me a drink.
Eventually we all went to go dance and the girl grabbed my hand and led me through the crowd “so I wouldn’t get lost.” Once we go to where we wanted to be, the AMOG started dancing with the girl (who I later figured out was his GF). While they were dancing, I stayed the behind them and didn’t interfere. They would occasionally make conversation with me (it was mostly the girl who would instigate it) and the girl, while dancing with the AMOG, would occasionally look back at me.
Now here comes the interesting part:
Eventually the AMOG and the friend to introduced me to the group had to leave the dance floor (no idea where they went, but I knew they’d come back). Out of all the other people he could have chosen, the AMOG TOLD ME TO TAKE CARE OF HIS GIRLFRIEND WHILE HE WAS GONE. Just like my coach had said, the AMOG handed me is GF. While the AMOG was gone, his GF and I danced together. When he came back, I handed her back to him smiling and he was pleased. I certainly “took care of her.” 
I was surprised that it worked, but working once is not proof. I’m going to have to test it over and over again, especially since there were other factors at play here (social proof and familiarity). I’ll keep you guys posted.
P.S.
I number closed the girl in front of the AMOG. I felt bad so I got the guy’s number, too, to make it look more normal.
So am I going to follow up? Probably not. I like the girl, but I also like the guy (not in the same way, mind you). And if I like a guy, I can’t steal his GF, no matter how much she wants me.
First Daygame Number CLose
Those who have read my previous field reports know that they are all about weekend nightgame, but this time I decided to start early.
Before I get started, I want to define some things.
Nightgame – Every time I hit on girls at a bar, club, or party I consider it night game.
Daygame – Every time I on girls outside any of the three above places, regardless of the time. For example, if I hit on a girl at 12 AM but we are in the library, I still consider that daygame because of the situation.
Sunday:
It Sunday night, dozens of people had gathered in a certain section of campus for a special all night event: Voterama. Early voting started the next day and they all wanted to be the first ones to pull the lever.
I had just gotten back from the gym, the faint smell of sweat and exercise equipment covering my clothes. In order to get back to my apartment, I decided to take a slightly different route than usual.
The meeting was destined to occur, I walked right into the Voterama party. Immediately, three girls greeted me with smiles.
“[Spinx] you came!” one of them said. I was a member of the organization who was hosting Voterama. Naturally, that meant everyone there knew me, or at least knew of me. It was time for the fun to begin.
Since I have a lot to cover, I’m going to skip to the fun parts.
Thirty minutes into the event, I had two girls fighting for my attention:
HBfrisky – She’s the prettiest of the two and also the most energetic. She can also hold her own. When I do my playful teasing, she can tease back. I guess that’s what I like most about her.
HBshy – I can’t remember how our interaction started (I think he opened me). All I know is that she was going to be voting for the first time this year and she knew nothing about the two political parties. Me being what I am, I took on the job of informing her. This girl hung out with me for the rest of the time I was there. Everywhere I went, she went, not that I’m complaining. She was Asian, and also very shy.
So HBshy and I were talking.
Me: blah blah blah politics
HBshy: blah politics blah
[HBfrisky arrives with one of her friends]
HBfrisky: Come on, Spinx. Come hang up some signs with us. You said you would!
Me: Fine.
HBshy: [face falls] I’ll see you when you get back.
Me: Come with us. We can keep talking on the way.
We go and hang up signs. Or more like, HBfrisky and her friend hang up all the signs. HBshy and I go off into one of the buildings together (why we both went in, I don’t remember). “Keep going, we’ll catch up” I told HBfrisky.
Nothing happened, but looking back on it, we could have kissed. I bet HBfrisky and her friend were playing guessing games about what HBshy and I were doing in there.
So we all come back to the Voterama area. HBshy and I are still talking. “Here, give me you number so we can talk more about this later,” I said. Number close.
Then HBsmile arrives on the scene. If you guys have noticed something I haven’t given any ratings yet. This girl is the reason why; she broke my rating system. Just by her looks, she was 6 and therefore was supposed to be below my range. However, the more I hung out with her, the prettier she became; her personality started shining through. Now I don’t know what she is, and honestly I don’t care anymore. What’s rating worth if you don’t enjoy hanging out the person? Officially, we are friends, but her body language tells me she wants more. I do, too. I need to SOI her soon or all will be lost.
LOADS of kino between me and HBsmile, most of it instigated by her. We talk and then HBsmile leaves to write a paper (I already have her number). I tell HBshy that I need to get going, too. HBshy decides to leave with me. After doing some more teasing with HBfrisky by flirting with her friend, HBshy and I head out. We part ways with a hug once we get back to her place. Once again, I could have gone in for the kiss, but I didn’t because I am lame. I don’t think I’ve seen the last of her. I am currently in the process of trying to organize a day 2.
Update:
I had a day 2 with HBshy; I took her to a debate so she could learn more about the political parties. She had fun, but we didn’t really get to talk much. I’m going to arrange something a bit more personal soon.

So ive been back in the game for 2 weeks now.. i am improving so much, so fast. I cannot wait to get out there again. Ive been in the game for 2-3 years on and off, mainly off, but when i do get into it i really get into it. I dont know if im getting better then i ever was, or if im just relearning the things that i have had, but I feel like i am at a new level. Approach anxiety is diminishing quickly, and i am loving every moment of it. I have met so many good pua’s in the last 2 weeks and have been learning alot from each one of them. I look forward to learning more and getting better, and maybe even teaching it to people one day. Oh and on a side note, i had woodranch bbq today. it was sooo good. mmm. Bad to the Bone baby!
